*NEW* Alberta OCD Mentorship Program

Updated: Jan 24, 2021

OCD Mentorship Program

My name is Emily Checkwitch and I am very pleased to present the new AOCDF Mentorship Program. Over the last couple months, I have been working with Jennifer, the AOCDF President, to design this program and make all the pieces fit together. Finally, we are ready to launch! I will be serving as the Mentorship Program Director and I will be available for you at any time during your mentorship journey. I will do my best to ensure this is an enjoyable and helpful experience for everyone. To learn more about the program, or to apply as a mentor or mentee, please visit https://www.aocdf.com/mentor-program.

A Little About Me

I have lived in Edmonton my whole life and am now pursuing my undergraduate education here at the University of Alberta. I’m in my third year of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and have clinical experience in a vast array of areas, with people from all walks of life, all across the lifespan. I am also involved in research as a student researcher and peer reviewer. My passion lies in health. I am of the conviction that health should be approached in a holistic way; mental, emotional, and social health are just as important as physical health but are not always treated as such. I hope through volunteering with the AOCDF that I can have an impact on the wellbeing of others, and further advocate for mental health.

Please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at aocdfmentorprogram@gmail.com or on the OnPoint Mentor private chat room.

Wishing you all a safe and healthy 2021,

Emily
